Kale = Green Drink

Mmm I made a green juice today. Trying to use up all my kale before it flowers.

I have Russian Kale. Here's a close up (not mine)...



















I used A LOT of Kale. Like two big handfuls, or a salad bowl full. I thought it was going to be very 'green' tasting, but it didn't. Here's the recipe I used...

Lots of Kale
4-8 sticks of celery
2 cloves of garlic
2 apples
1 small carrot
1 lemon (without rind)

I think the one whole lemon really helps. It makes it lighter and fresher.
I'll miss having kale in the garden.
I'll have lettuce though - yet I find that makes quite a bitter juice.

I'm eating apples atm, called Elstar apples. Really nice indeed.

There was some talk of people running out of fruit because of the airplanes not running... but the wholefood shop I go to doesn't use any air-freighted produce. It's all shipped.
I think the planes will be back tomorrow. Oh well! Hope Mama Earth enjoyed her breather.

I don't think the butterfly is going to make it! His wing is a bit crinkled and it ain't doing anything. I think tomorrow it's time for it to go out and find its own way.
