My friend is on a mega sprouty and wheatgrass diet - pretty inspiring - she went to Hippocrates and all! She went away for a week recently, and I got to babysit all the sproutlings.
Here's the set up!
Sunflower and pea sprouts and wheatgrass.
Every Saturday she starts her sprouting routine, by soaking lots of seeds. Then they are rinsed like ordinary sprouts for two days. Then they are planted in an inch of compost, and the peas and sunflowers have a weight on top. The wheatgrass only has a cover over it to keep it dark.
Then they are watered every day, and the hard part it that all the runoff water has to be drained into a bucket. Twice a day. And as they grow they get really heavy! So it's slightly back breaking leaning over holding the heavy trays. But That's enough for a week... but of course, every week you start another batch!

I then bought some myself. Here's my wheatgrass. I grew some ages ago and I got really ill from drinking it - instant stomach cramp! But this wheatgrass is perfect, very sweet and no ill tummy!
And here's the cute puppy! Her name is Lola and belongs to a cousin of my bf. She was adorable!!
